Tetyana Fomenko

Tetiana FOMENKO serves in the project as an expert/advisor/researcher and trainer/teacher.

PhD in Pedagogy, Associate Professor of Foreign Languages Department.

Her experience in teaching and researching work is more than 12 years, and she has more than 50 publications in total. Her research interests are mainly in the study of internationalization of higher agrarian education, intercultural communication in general and socio-cultural aspects of foreign language teaching in higher education institutions in particular. A number of scientific publications are devoted to the development of students’ media literacy and critical thinking.

Tetiana FOMENKO teaches the training courses “Ukrainian as a foreign language” for students of the preparatory department and students of 1-4 courses of all faculties; “Foreign (English) language (Elective component)”, “Profound foreign (English) language”. The experience gained from teaching work with both foreign and Ukrainian students ensures the implementation of an intercultural approach into the conducting of EUSELENA project activities.

During the last few years, Tatiana FOMENKO has been a member of the editorial board of the scientific journals “Educational Challenges” and “Astraea”. Thanks to many years of the experience in scientific work, the performance of duties as a reviewer of the scientific journals at an appropriate level, she possesses theoretical and methodological tools, competencies for analysis, evaluation and coverage of the project activities.

Tatiana FOMENKO takes an active part in the development of the Ukrainian-language course for foreign students and the English-language course for Ukrainian students “Major EU practices on media literacy for boosting students’ critical thinking in the frame of the target language learning”, approbation and implementation of relevant courses based on traditional and innovative teaching and learning methods.

Tatiana FOMENKO and Yuliya LUSHKYK are responsible for managing the Telegram-channel, the purpose of which is to inform about the stages of the project, discuss important issues related to the functioning of modern media, manipulation of information, countering disinformation, etc.Tetiana FOMENKO, together with Yulia LUSHKYK and Marina BILOTSERKOVETS, is a member of the author’s collective for compiling educational and methodological resources provided for within the project, in particular: “Digital etiquette: principles of speaking and behavior”, “Major EU media literacy practices in fostering students’ critical thinking in the context of foreign language training”.

Within the project, she will teach the training course “Major EU practices on media literacy for boosting students’ critical thinking in the frame of the target language learning”. As a member of Jean Monnet Module team, Tetiana FOMENKO will participate in conducting research related to an interdisciplinary approach to the development of students’ media skills, the integration of media and digital literacy into the Humanities study using the EU experience as an example. She will also make a significant contribution to the coordination of cooperation between the project team and experts, representatives of the public during the implementation of the project, in particular during summer schools.
