Marina BILOTSERKOVETS is a coordinator/ expert/ consultant/ researcher/teacher in the project.
Marina BILOTSERKOVETS is a teacher of English, French and German languages, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences (PhD in Education), Associate Professor, Associate Professor at the Department of Foreign Languages, SNAU.
The dissertation study was devoted to the formation and intensification of students-future agrarians’ cognitive abilities in the process of learning humanities, in particular foreign languages.
Marina BILOTSERKOVETS teaches the disciplines “Foreign (English) language”, “Foreign (English) language for professional direction”, “Foreign (German) language of professional direction” for 1-4 year students gaining Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, postgraduate students of all faculties.
In 2019, Marina BILOTSERKOVETS participated in a set of certified trainings held by the Media Literacy Institute, which was initiated by the Embassy of the United States of America. The work of this research institution is extremely relevant because it forms a comprehension of the increasing influence of mass media in the society and its consequences. The activity of the media literacy instructor aims to teach students:
- using media not just for entertainment, but for self-expression and creativity, protecting your private information space, taking into account your safety and security of digital devices;
- checking facts, distinguishing facts from judgments, assumptions, evaluating information quickly, detecting manipulation and propaganda;
- being loyal to diversity, otherness, realizing that there can be many different views on the same situation, living without stereotypes and prejudices.
A number of pedagogical studies carried out by Marina BILOTSERKOVETS, Tatiana FOMENKO and Tetiana KLOCHKOVA at Sumy National Agrarian University in 2019-2022 resulted in publications, indexed in international scientific databases, including Scopus and Web of Science, in particular in the field of:
- development of media literacy and critical thinking of students in the process of learning foreign languages during COVID-19 lockdown (https://doi.org/10.26803/ijlter.20.2.14 );
- overcoming barriers in intercultural communication: a case of comparison and interpretation of agricultural idioms in English, Ukrainian and Chinese (https://doi.org/10.36941/ajis-2020-0120 );
- projects in social media as a means of enhancing intercultural communication via learning English (https://doi.org/10.34069/AI/2021.48.12.10).
Pedagogical research and publications became the basis for the development and implementation of the project “EU strategies extrapolation for boosting students’ media literacy in Ukrainian HE” No. 101094334 — EUSELENA — ERASMUS-JMO- 2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH.
Thanks to her command of not only English but also French and German, Marina BILOTSERKOVETS monitors the information space of the European Union, is responsible, together with Yulia LUSHCHYK and Tatiana FOMENKO for the development and implementation of the course “MAJOR EU PRACTICES ON MEDIA LITERACY FOR BOOSTING STUDENTS’ CRITICAL THINKING IN THE FRAME OF THE TARGET LANGUAGE LEARNING”, a set of trainings “Diversity representation: overcoming stereotypes” Having the experience of performing the duties of an invited reviewer of the English-language scientific journal “International Journal of Learning, Teaching and Educational Research”, Marina BILOTSERKOVETS has an adequate level of theoretical-methodological tools, competencies for analysis, evaluation of media content and management of project information pages in social networks.
