THE “RETHINK WASTE WEEK” PROJECT FINISHED IN SNAU

During the week, from November 7 to 11, 2022, the “Rethink Waste Week” project was implemented on the basis of the Sumy National Agrarian University as part of the “Production and dissemination of circular economy ideas in accordance with the EU Action Plan” program.

So, it’s time to summarize:

● teachers, students and the team of the Promotion Office created a video “Ecology Discipline” (you can watch it at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azUtYXCW8oU).
● On November 7, 2022, the opening of the “Recycling” exhibition took place. Townspeople and SNAU staff showed their products created by recycling and upcycling methods: socks from old sweaters, a chandelier from a cart wheel, a bowl for animals from a Russian soldier’s helmet. ● On November 8, 2022, the collection of waste paper in the walls of SNAU was completed. Together we managed to collect more than a ton of paper. The money collected from the sale will definitely be used to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
● On November 9, 2022, a debate tour of students “Circular Economy” took place. Students discussed and debated about environmental issues. The first place was won by the team of the engineering and technical faculty, the second place was won by the construction team, and the third place was won by the team of the faculty of economics and management.
● On November 10, 2022, the defense of scientific works “Innovative solutions for circular economy” took place. First place was won by Anna Savelova (Kremenchuk National University named after Mykhailo Ostrogradskyi), second place – Bohdan Ivashko (Lutsk National Technical University), third place – Inna Bykova (National University “Poltava Polytechnic named after Yury Kondratyuk”).
● On November 11, 2022, the collection of waste paper in schools of the Sumy Oblast was completed. The action was joined by the Khukhryan secondary school grades I-III of the Chernechchyn village council, Sumy specialized school grades I-III /2 named after D. Kosarenko, KU Sumy comprehensive school of grades I-III /12 named after B. Berestovskyi. The money collected from the sale will be used to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

We sincerely hope that everyone involved in the organization and holding of “Rethink Waste Week” received a lot of positive emotions and new knowledge in the field of urgent environmental problems and household waste management.
