Within the framework of the Programme of the Czech Government for the support of young scientists Melnyk Olena, Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. of Department of Ecology and Botany, Sumy NAU, Erasmus + project coordinator of Jean Monnet Chair «EU Climate Leadership» visited the Faculty of Tropical Agriscience at the University of Life Sciences in Prague (Czech Republic).
During the internship there was a great opportunity to get acquainted with the University campus, which positions itself as eco-friendly, to talk to Czech colleagues from the project department and to present SNAU`s team work within the Erasmus + Jean Monnet Chair project “EU Climate Leadership”. Olena Melnyk also visited the biofuel laboratory and discussed with Professor T. Ivanova the prospects of RES in the context of the European Green Deal’s ambitious plan for carbon neutrality of the European continent, reviewed samples and compared the characteristics of briquettes made in the biofuel laboratory from plant materials. A useful addition to the internship program was participation in the online conference Tropentag Conference.
For young scientists, an internship is a great experience and a new step towards development.
We are thankful to the Czech University of Life Science (Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences) and Czech government supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, which allowed this scientific cooperation to start within the project «AgriSciences Platform for Scientific Enhancement of HEIs in Ukraine».
