The delegation from the Sumy National University returned from an educational and research visit within the framework of the #Erasmus+ Jean Monet Project grant “Production and expansion of circular economy ideas in accordance with the EU Action Plan” No. 620966-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-PROJECT”, which took place in Paris (France).
The participants had a working meeting at Paris-Saclay University, at the CentraleSupélec research center, with which Sumy NAU has been cooperating for two years and has several joint articles on the topic of circular economy in leading journals. 48,000 students, 4,600 post-graduate students, 9,000 researchers work at the university, and 275 laboratories are available.
“I was surprised by the fact that 2/3 of students during their studies go to a half-year internship at an enterprise for 2-3 courses and then return again to receive a diploma, and in the first semester everyone has to study abroad. It is also interesting that the graduates of the university we visited are the former Presidents of France, the CEO of Nissan and Renault, the billionaire businessman of Moderna, the president and CEO of the Louis Vuitton group of companies, so the problem of finding a business for quality practice for students does not arise. as well as with the search for funds for laboratories, halls, equipment and research”, – candidate of economic sciences, associate professor, director of the Office of Promotion Ksenia Blyumska-Danko shared her impressions.
“With some experience of cooperation with foreign universities, for the first time I found myself in such a large-scale institution, where almost 50,000 students study. At the beginning of the 21st century, as a result of a powerful reform, the government united about a dozen universities of the capital of France into a single educational and research center. Today, only one of the 70 scientific laboratories, namely the one we visited, publishes more than 100 scientific articles in leading journals a year”, – informs the vice-rector for scientific work, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Yuriy Ivanovich Danko.
At a meeting with the head of the laboratory, Professor Bernard Jannou, and a group of researchers engaged in monitoring the circular economy, SNAU representatives discussed the prospects for further cooperation in this direction, in particular, regarding joint research and the formation of grant applications for the future.
