The work of the Winter Academy for Combating Climate Change, implemented by Sumy National Agrarian University within the framework of the Erasmus + Jean Monnet Chair “EU Climate Leadership” (620031-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-CHAIR), was recently completed.
The training lasted from December 14 to 18 online. It was attended by more than 50 participants from all over Ukraine. Very authoritative speakers shared their knowledge in particular, representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, the United Nations Program in Ukraine, the World Bank, the Razumkov Center, NGOs and foundations concerned with environmental issues, scientists and civil society activists.
Thanks to meaningful and interesting lectures, participants were able to pump their knowledge and skills in the following areas:
- Introduction to climate safety.
- International climate policy and legislation.
- Climate and social policy issues.
- Climate and its impact on agrobioecosystems.
Working in groups, participants prepared and defended their own projects aimed at slowing down climate change and preserving the environment.
