The second edition of the online course on EU media literacy practices for critical thinking in language learning has commenced. This course aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complex media landscape. By focusing on EU practices, students will gain insights into various media literacy strategies with a specific emphasis on learning in a target language.
The objectives of the course are as follows:
– Understanding the role of media literacy in contemporary society
– Developing critical thinking skills through media analysis
– Enhancing students’ language proficiency by engaging with authentic media content
– Strengthening their language skills through targeted media-related content
– Equipping students with the tools necessary to effectively navigate the digital media landscape.
Participants: 35 enthusiastic participants from diverse academic backgrounds, namely: 3rd-year students from the Faculty of Biology and Technology, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Agrotechnologies and Natural Resources Management, Law Faculty, and the Faculty of Economics and Management are involved.

Teaching Toolkit:
The course is conducted online via Zoom, ensuring interactive and flexible learning that is accessible to students regardless of location. It is supported by a comprehensive set of teaching materials and assessments available on Moodle, allowing an interactive and structured learning experience. This toolkit includes weekly online interactive lectures and discussions; multimedia resources such as videos, presentations, and case studies; and collaborative projects to foster peer-to-peer learning and practical application.
